Soccer Saturday’s iconic crew meet up for meal together more than a year after Sky Sports sackings
SOCCER SATURDAY’S iconic former crew met up for a reunion meal on Thursday more than a year after their controversial Sky Sports sackings.
Host Jeff Stelling was pictured alongside former colleagues Matt Le Tissier, Tony Cottee, Charlie Nicholas and Phil Thompson.
Alan McInally and Soccer Saturday legend Chris Kamara were also in attendance – but the pair are still employed by Sky.
Kamara and West Ham icon Cottee both posted photos of the group on their social media profiles.
Kammy shared a snap on Twitter and wrote: “The boys are back in town.”
And Cottee uploaded his on Insta and said: “What a reunion … Gr8 to see all the Sky boys tonight.”
Cottee was let go in the summer after 20 years with the broadcaster.
And that came a year after Sky caused uproar after sacking fan-favourites Le Tissier, Thompson and Nicholas in a massive shake-up.

Former Everton and Leicester striker Cottee released an emotional statement thanking everyone for their hard work during his two decades on the show.
He tweeted: “After 20 years @SkySports, today I was told that I will no longer be on the Soccer Saturday show.
“I’ve got fantastic memories and had lots of laughs but it’s now time for me to move on and see what the future will bring.
“It was a privilege to be a part of such a great team.
“I’d like to thank everyone I’ve worked with at Soccer Saturday in that time.
“And a special thanks to all the cameramen and back room staff who have looked after me so well.
“Perhaps there won’t be so many 0-0’s now?!”

Stelling previously revealed his disappointment at Le Tissier, Thompson and Nicholas being let go, calling it one of his ‘saddest days’.
The iconic host has since announced this season will be his last on the iconic show.
And the Sun revealed last month his decision was sparked by the axing of his mates.
