Report: Spurs leading race for Croatian starlet ahead of Man Utd and Bayern Munich

0 5

French outlet Homme du Match have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are currently the front runners in the race for Stade Rennais midfielder Lovro Majer.

After impressing in the Croatian league for the last few years, Rennes paid around €15m (£12.6m) to snap up Majer this summer.

The attacking midfielder did not have the best of starts to his time in Ligue 1 as he picked up a hip injury at the start of the season that kept him out for seven matches.

However, the 23-year-old has been in excellent form since returning from his injury in October and seems to be getting better with each game he plays.

Homme du Match have now claimed that Majer’s performances have caught the attention of several big European sides.

The report reveals that while the midfielder is unlikely to leave during the January transfer window, he could well be on the move next summer.

Tottenham are said to be ‘the most interested club’ in securing the Croatian international’s services, with the North London club alleged to have the player ‘at the top of their list of priorities’.

Manchester United and Bayern Munich are also thought to have their eye on the Rennes star.

Spurs Web Opinion

After yesterday’s performance against Mura, Dele Alli and Tanguy Ndombele are arguably a step closer to leaving the club next summer if not during the January transfer window. So, a creative midfielder is something I can certainly see Spurs being in the market for over the next two windows.
