Journalist claims ‘one of the biggest offers’ for PL star has come from Spurs

0 1

Transfer expert Dean Jones has revealed that, of the offers Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has received, the one from Tottenham is among the biggest.

Rudiger’s current contract at Stamford Bridge runs out in the summer and the speculation linking him with a move across London shows no signs of slowing down.

The Express claimed in October that Spurs were monitoring German international’s contract situation while Gianluca Di Marzio stated at the start of this month that Tottenham were one of four clubs in talks with the central defender.

Jones has now said on The Done Deal Show on The Football Terrace (starting at 36:02) that there has been no progress in the talks between Rudiger’s camp and Chelsea.

The journalist revealed that the centre-back is keeping his options open and wants to see what offers are on the table in January.

Jones stated that, as things stand, “one of the biggest offers on the table is from Tottenham”.

He added that he was also hearing from Rudiger’s camp that of the interested clubs, Spurs are one of the most serious.

Jones went on to reveal that Paris Saint-Germain are keeping track of the 28-year-old’s situation and are likely to be in the conversation for his signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

The fact that so many different sources are reporting on Tottenham’s interest in Rudiger suggests that there is truth there.

One would think Spurs would not be tracking the situation if they did not think they have a chance of signing the 28-year-old.

However, I do find it hard to fathom why Rudiger would want to move across London and ruin his Chelsea legacy, especially since he is likely to have many offers to choose from.
