I Don’t Want To Have That Conversation – Steve Bruce On Newcastle Star’s Future

 

Saint-Maximin is a talismanic presence in the Newcastle side and has been their main attacking threat up front since last season.

 

The attacker’s performances at Newcastle have attracted the prying eyes of several clubs in the Premier League who are above the Magpies in the league table.

 

 

There is little talk of the Frenchman leaving Newcastle but talk of his departure is likely to intensify if he continues to be a consistent performer for the club in the coming months.

 

But Bruce stressed that he has had no conversations with Newcastle over Saint-Maximin’s future and he does not want to have that talk either.

 

 

The Newcastle manager believes the winger is more than happy to stay at Newcastle at the moment.

 

Bruce said in a press conference when asked whether he has received any assurances from Newcastle over the player’s future: “I haven’t even had that conversation and I don’t want to have that conversation as you can imagine.

 

 

“We don’t want to lose our best players at all.

 

“Allan is staying fit, he’s staying well.”

 

Saint-Maximin signed a new six-year contract with Newcastle last year and the club are in a strong position to ward off interest in him.
