Now He Is Next Target – Former Rangers Star On Gers’ Contract Renewals

 

Steven Gerrard has relied heavily on a core group of Gers star over the course of the last few seasons, with the likes Kamara and Goldson playing integral roles, including in last season’s Scottish Premiership winning run.

 

Rangers extended Kamara’s stint at the club earlier this week, while Goldson’s future at Ibrox is under the scanner with his contract expiring next summer.

 

 

Gers legend Rae has insisted tying down the centre-back to a new deal at the club should be Rangers’ priority with him being the best player they have in that position.

 

Rae stressed the uncertainty over Goldson’s future is the only key issue he is seeing in the Rangers squad at present and wants them to sort his future out soon.

 

 

“Obviously, Connor Goldson will be the next target [having extended Kamara’s stint] for me because I think over the last couple of years, I think he has been pretty decent”, Rae said on the Ibrox Uncovered Podcast.

 

“He has been very reliable; I think he is the number one centre-half [for Rangers].

 

 

“So that would be the only issue for me out with the current squad.”

 

Rangers have held talks with Goldson and his representatives over extending his stint but both parties are yet to reach middle ground.
