Reports Chelsea preparing another Lukaku bid

0 6

The media in England continue to insist Chelsea will make a third offer for Romelu Lukaku, even after seeing two rejected by Inter and the striker himself.

The Belgium international has found the form of his life in Italy, scoring 64 goals in 95 competitive games for Inter, along with 16 assists on his way to the Scudetto and reaching the Europa League Final.

The Athletic and The Telegraph report again today that Chelsea have made Lukaku their primary transfer objective, as Borussia Dortmund will not sell Erling Haaland.

Inter have already turned down two offers for their star man, but that doesn’t seem to be putting off the reigning Champions League holders.

The Nerazzurri do have financial difficulties, but if any of their forwards are likely to leave this summer, Lautaro Martinez would be the candidate, seeing as his contract extension negotiations have hit a brick wall.

However, Lautaro has his heart set on Spain for Atletico Madrid, Barcelona or Real Madrid, so any proposal from Chelsea, Arsenal or other Premier League sides could be snubbed.

Nonetheless, if Chelsea’s bid does go well above €100m, then Inter could be tempted to think about it.

It’d have to be over that sum, because they paid €74m plus up to €4m in bonuses to get Lukaku from Manchester United in 2019.
