The Knee Jerk: RSL vs Nashville

This was a boring match. Nothing sexy. Nothing to scream about. RSL didn’t win and Nashville didn’t lose. It’s our first shutout of the season. That’s one thing to take away, I guess.

I’m wondering if they had Tom Brady check the pressure in the balls pre-match because those corner kicks had a lot of hang time. Maybe the air just got lighter. Or helium. We should use hydrogen-filled soccer balls and have a Hindenburg. Hindenball? Too soon?

Better

We didn’t give up any goals. Our defenders locked it down in the back and we earned that clean sheet. At the expense of anything really exciting to shout and bounce about.

Worse

Our final touches in attack left much to be desired. No shots on goal make for a rather uninteresting attacking flow. There was a rearrangement of pieces, and I’m not entirely sure it worked out well on the attacking front.

We’ve had some attacking deliciousness this year and that’s what we need to see more of. Is that just how Nashville plays? Maybe. Did we have an off night? Probably. Do better? Please.

Pillow Recommendations

I’m in need of a nice new pillow. Something very comfy. The kind of pillow that will remind me of this match every time I plop my head down on it. If you have pillow recommendations, I’d love to have them. Pillows are important to a good night’s sleep. Matches like this one will send you to bed drowsy.

Nashville’s not fun to watch.

RSL has been pretty fun to watch until tonight.

I really enjoyed watching The Witcher on Netflix and I’m looking forward to season two.

At least we didn’t have to try to mark Wondo.
