Milan Skriniar opens up on future and transfer rumours amid Spurs links

0 7

Rumoured Tottenham Hotspur target, Milan Skirniar, has admitted that he is ‘very close’ to signing a new contract with Inter Milan.

Skriniar was heavily linked with a move to Spurs last summer but the North London club were unable to get the deal over the line.

Tottenham have been backed to make another attempt to sign the Slovak, who has been a key part of Antonio Conte’s side Scuddeto win this season.

Reports in the British press claim that strengthening at centre-back is one of Spurs’ main priorities this summer, with the club having already having made inquiries for Jannik Vestergaard and Jerome Boateng.

Spurs might have fancied their chances of tempting Inter to sell Skriniar, with the centre-back having just two years left to run on his contract at the San Siro.

However, it now looks as though Tottenham might have to abandon their pursuit of the 26-year-old after he admitted that he is close to agreeing on an extension with the Nerazzurri.

When asked about rumours linking him to other clubs, he told Sport Aktuality: “There have been rumours, there are and there will be.

“However, I have never listened to or commented them.

“Of course, it will be no different after this season.

On his future, he added: “I want to enjoy this great feeling now, then I want to finish the season and prepare for the European Championship.

“Will I defend the title with the Inter shirt next year? Yes, of course.”
