Report: PL club likely to put off move for Spurs star after recent development

0 1

The Sun has revealed that Manchester United are likely to call off their chase for Harry Kane this summer after Edinson Cavani signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

Reports indicate that Kane wants to leave Tottenham at the end of the season and will ask Daniel Levy to consider offers for him.

One of the clubs who were expected to make a bid for the England captain was Manchester United, with some sources suggesting that the Red Devils could even offer multiple players to Spurs in a potential swap deal for the 27-year-old.

However, The Sun now report that, while Kane is keen to leave Spurs, the North London club have made it clear that they will not sell their talisman to a Premier League rival.

The report suggests that United decided to offer Cavani a contract extension after they realised that it will be ‘increasingly difficult’ to sign the Tottenham star.

It is asserted that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men have thus put their hunt for a new number 9 on hold for another 12 months.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not see Kane leaving this summer but it is next summer that I am worried about. If the striker does not sign a new deal with Spurs, he will have just two years left to run on his contract in a years’ time.

That would leave the Tottenham hierarchy with little choice but to sell the striker if they wish to get decent value for him in the market. So, I expect the likes of United to launch a bid for the England captain next summer.
