Former Spurs boss set to make World Rally Championship debut this month

0 4

Former Tottenham Hotspur head coach Andre Villas-Boas is set to make his World Rally Championship debut in Portugal, BBC Sport has reported

Although Villas-Boas’ stint at Spurs did not work out the way he would have wanted, the former Tottenham boss has managed to rebuild his managerial reputation since leaving the club in 2013 with his stints at Zenit Saint Petersburg, Shanghai Port FC and Marseille.

The 43-year-old had a promising first season at the Orange Velodrome after joining the club in the summer of 2019 but he had a dramatic exit from the Ligue 1 side two months ago after falling out with the French club’s hierarchy.

Villas-Boas, who has now agreed to take part in the fourth round of the WRC, is not new to motorsport, having previously crashed out of the Dakar Rally in 2018.

The Portuguese coach will drive a Citroen C3 in WRC3, the third tier of the championship which will be held from May 20-23.
