Thieves stole the catalytic converter from my niece's car yesterday - barstewards!
Because they sawed it off, the insurers are writing the car off so she's now busy looking for another car.
She paid extra for a hire car but, because this is theft from a motor vehicle rather than theft of the vehicle, she is not entitled to a car so now has no means of getting around unless she pays out for a hire car in the mean time.
I'm so angry !!
My question is, would she be entitled to any other kind of remuneration - victim of crime type of thing? Or is that just for physical harm after being the victim of a crime?
