Robbie Savage claims Spurs star will be ’embarrassed’ for what he did on Sunday

0 4

Robbie Savage has claimed that Son Heung-min will be embarrassed when he watches back his reaction to being caught in the face by Scott McTominay on Sunday.

Even though Manchester United emerged 3-1 winners from the match yesterday, their disallowed goal in the first half has been one of the biggest talking points from the encounter.

After Edinson Cavani put the ball in the back of the net, VAR intervened and asked referee Chris Kavanagh to re-watch a potential foul in the build-up, with Son going down after McTominay’s hand seemed to catch him in the face.

Kavanagh decided to disallow the goal and the South Korean opened the scoring for the home side just minutes later.

Although his side managed to overturn the result in the second half, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fuming after the game about the disallowed goal and insisted that he would not feed his own son if he acted as the South Korean had.

Mourinho took issue with the Man Utd boss’ comments and questioned why the media were not outraged like they would have if he had said something similar about an opposition player.

However, Savaged agreed with Solksjaer’s assessment of the incident, suggesting that Son will not be proud of the way he went down.

HITC quotes the former Blackburn midfielder of saying to BBC 606 (6:38pm, April 11, 2021): “I think Son will be embarrassed by his reaction.”

I understand why some people feel annoyed at Son for milking the challenge but the reality is that players do not get fouls if they do not go down. So, Son had to go down when he was caught by McTominay to bring the incident to the referee’s attention.
