Jury Is Still Out On Gareth Bale At Tottenham – Former Top Flight Star

 

The Wales international struggled to hit the ground running after completing a season-long loan move to former club Tottenham from Real Madrid last summer.

 

Following months of struggles, Bale finally sprung to life for Spurs recently, contributing to seven goals in their last four games across all competitions.

 

 

The 31-year-old’s recent rise in form has reignited talk about Tottenham making his loan move permanent, but former top flight star McInally is of the view that the jury is still out on the player.

 

McInally pointed out how Bale took months to show glimpses of his quality and insisted that Tottenham should only consider buying him if he continues to display the same form over the coming weeks.

 

 

“I like Gareth Bale, I genuinely do, but I’m like ‘At last Gareth, seriously mate, seriously we have been waiting for this, the reason you came back to Spurs and everybody was excited'”, McInally said on Footy Accumulators.

 

“Even if you weren’t a Tottenham fan there is no way you weren’t like ‘Gareth Bale coming back to the Premier League, brilliant!’

 

 

“We haven’t seen anything.

 

“And all of a sudden, over the last couple of weeks just maybe [we are seeing the best of Bale].

 

“But, I’m still like the jury is out a bit.

 

“Let’s just see if he does it next week and the following week and the following week, and then I’ll say to you Spurs should try and get him permanently.“

 

Bale has scored eight goals and provided three assists from 20 appearances across all competitions for Tottenham this season.
