WHEN a Covid professor was recently asked whether the present lockdown would be the last one, he replied by saying that lockdowns could become a seasonal affair because the virus appears to be more virulent in colder conditions.If this becomes the case then would it make sense to move to summer football?Rather than cancel a third successive season, it could continue again in March 2022 and run until it reached its conclusion.Various concerns would have to be addressed but I’m sure ways could be found to get around them rather than cancelling a season yet again.BARRY LENTON ...
