Report: Spurs and Dortmund leading race for Man United player

0 6

According to a report from Sky Sports, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund are leading the race to sign Manchester United goalkeeper, Dean Henderson.

Lloris’ role in the Tottenham side has been questioned by some in light of multiple high profile errors from the Frenchman in recent weeks.

Several potential replacements have been mooted for the 34-year-old, with West Brom number one Sam Johnstone and Burnley shot-stopper Nick Pope said to be on the North Londoners’ radar.

However, Sky Sports now claim that Henderson is at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist should Lloris leave in the summer, with Jose Mourinho said to be a fan of the 23-year-old since his time as Man Utd boss.

The report reveals that Spurs are unsure about Lloris’ future with the Tottenham captain entering the final year of his contract at the end of the season and attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Henderson is said to frustrated with the lack of opportunities since returning to Old Trafford and it is suggested that he is not prepared to spend another season playing second fiddle to David De Gea.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am not convinced that we will look to replace Lloris at the end of the season as there are a lot of other areas across the pitch that we need to address.

However, if we were to look for a replacement for the Frenchman, Henderson would likely be more expensive than both Nick Pope and Sam Johnstone due to his age and the fact that his contract at Old Trafford runs till 2025.
