Report: Spurs player completes medical ahead of exit

0 4

Football Insider has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur winger Anthony Georgiou has completed a medical before his impending move to AEL Limassol.

Georgiou has been at the Tottenham academy since 2013 and graduated through the youth teams to make his senior debut for the club in 2017 during a Champions League tie against APOEL.

However, that remains the winger’s only competitive first-team appearance for the club to date, although he did feature during the club’s pre-season fixtures up until the beginning of the 2019/20 campaign.

The 23-year-old has had loan spells at Levante, Ipswich Town and Bolton Wanderers but did not make much of an impression during his time at those clubs.

It was reported last week that Tottenham had reached an agreement with Limassol over the wide man’s sale and that the player had agreed to personal terms with the Cypriot club.

Football Insider has now claimed that the player has flown out to Cyprus for a medical, which he has now passed.

The report claims that Limassol are now putting the final touches on the transfer and that an announcement is imminent.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is a good move for Georgiou as he is moving one of the biggest clubs back in his home country. At 23 years of age, he needs to play regularly and he will almost certainly do that at Limassol.
