Carlo Ancelotti makes his stance clear on four-goal Moise Keane

0 4

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti says he has not spoken to Moise Kean, but says the striker will be  “back next season”.

The 20-year-old signed on a season-long loan for Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.

Kean was a major signing for Everton in the summer of 2019, but failed to live up to expectations after joining from Juventus.

The Italian striker scored just twice in the Premier League in his first season in England, having been limited to just six league starts.

Ancelotti, who arrived at Everton in December, decided to let Kean leave, after just 13 minutes of action this season.

The Goodison club however would not agree to the inclusion of an option to buy for the Ligue 1 side, according to the Liverpool Echo.

However, earlier this month France Football, claimed that PSG can sign Kean for €20m at the end of his loan deal. That’s around €10m less than what Everton originally paid for him.

Kean has hit the ground running in France with two goals in Ligue 1 and two goals in the Champions League from four appearances.

“I didn’t speak with him but I saw him score four goals in two games,” Ancelotti said.

“This is good. This is good for Paris Saint Germain, for him and for us also.”

Kean not upset to leave

Asked if he expected Kean to return to Everton next summer, the Italian said: “This is what the contract says.

“We decided to allow him to go on loan, to play more, to have more opportunity to play more. He is showing his quality and he will be back next season.”

Meanwhile, Kean recently reflected on his time at Everton, admitting he does not feel too bad about leaving the Premier League behind.

“I am not particularly upset to have left English football, even if the banner from the Everton fans really moved me, as I wasn’t expecting it,” he told RAI Sport – referring to an anti-racism banner displayed in solidarity with him shortly after he arrived in England.”
