Football commentator Clive Tyldesley sacked by Soccer Aid bosses after fat-shaming rapper Chunkz

0 10

AFTER a series of poor wise cracks on Soccer Aid put Clive Tyldesley on thin ice, his critics will be pleased to know the ice has finally broken – for good.

Bosses behind this year’s charity football match — which raised more than £11million for Unicef — have sacked the football commentator after his jokes went wide of the goal.

Along with accusations of mixing players up, Clive was also slammed for fat-shaming comedian Tom Davis and rapper Chunkz while they were on the pitch last month.

Jibes included Clive saying Chunkz was so big you could “take guided tours around him”.

The abuse led to Chunkz getting very upset in the changing room after the game when he was told what had been said.

An insider said: “Clive’s been told he won’t be back for next year’s Soccer Aid because of the comments he made. It was clear that while Clive thought he was just having a laugh, no one really found his jokes funny, let alone Tom and Chunkz who bore the brunt of them.

“Soccer Aid raises millions for children and is watched by kids and young people across the UK. Having them listen to someone like Clive then mocking players for their weight seems totally unacceptable.

“People made their voices heard on social media and the bosses at Soccer Aid listened.

“Clive understands why he won’t be back.

“And it will be put forward as them bringing in new blood when it comes to the commentators on next year’s game.”

It’s been a bad summer for Clive.

In July, he was demoted at ITV after 22 years and told he would no longer be their top commentator.

He’s one of the best in the business so it’s a shame to see him go from Soccer Aid.

But seeing as he’s just been announced as the new face of Just Eat, I bet he’ll be chunks soon.

New girl to play Fergie

THE Duchess of York wanted a star from Hollywood’s elite to play her in The Crown – but an unknown actor from Milton Keynes will play her instead.

Fergie had hoped Oscar winner Julianne Moore or Eleanor Tomlinson of Poldark fame would take on the part when the Netflix drama returns next month.

Jessica Aquilina, an unknown actor from Milton Keynes, will play Fergie in The Crown

But the role in the fourth series has gone to Jessica Aquilina, whose Twitter profile says she is currently working in the Dinosaurs World Live drive-in show in North London.

I’m sure the newcomer will still do a fantastic job.

Jessica braves TV orgy

IT was a surprise when Jessica Brown Findlay went from ITV’s twee Downton Abbey to steamy drama Harlots on BBC2, but she was just getting warmed up.

The actress stars next in new Sky One show, Brave New World, which opens with a huge orgy that required Jessica to work with an intimacy coach.

But that was just one of the measures producers took to make actors feel comfortable during sex scenes for the futuristic drama, based on Aldous Huxley’s novel of the same name.

Jessica also had a “safe word” in case she wanted to halt saucy proceedings.

Speaking on The Russell Howard Hour tonight on Sky One, Jessica says: “If you feel uncomfortable at any point you say a word that wouldn’t be used in and around the set, so you come up with something to be safe. My code word was ‘kangaroo’!”

Well, they like a jump too.

Dark times ahead for Russell

FANS of Luther could guess writer Neil Cross had a dark imagination, but the inspiration for his new drama will leave them in no doubt.

The Sister, which airs later this month on ITV, is based on a time he got drunk and woke up the next day convinced he had murdered someone in the woods.

Central character Nathan, played by Russell Tovey, is haunted by the death of a woman years earlier.

Then old acquaintance Bob (Bertie Carvel), turns up with news that threatens his whole world.

It will still need to go a long way to be as dark than Luther.

Ovie is booked

A YEAR on from appearing on ITV’s Love Island, Ovie Soko still gets overwhelmed by the attention.

The British pro-basketball ace said: “I do the same things that most of us do, have the same kind of quirky habits most of us probably have, so the fact that people are interested still blows my mind, to be honest.”
