Fantasy football Premier League: 7 of the best bargain players priced at just £1.0m on the game this season

0 6

Everyone wants the best Premier League players when they’re playing fantasy football, don’t they?

But unfortunately, the likes of Harry Kane, Mohamed Salah and Raheem Sterling cost quite a fair bit, so picking all of the league’s biggest and brightest is virtually impossible with Dream Team’s £50million budget.

Luckily, there’s a number of brilliant bargain players out there, including this lot…

Fantasy football tips: 7 brilliant Premier League players who are priced at just £1.0m this season

1 Patrick Roberts

This could be a big season for Man City’s young winger, after his difficult year on loan with Spanish side Girona.

Having moved to newly-promoted Norwich on yet another season-long loan, Roberts – with his pace, low-centre of gravity and cultured left-foot – could be one of the main-players in Daniel Farke’s relatively inexperienced squad.

He could also prove to be a gem for your Dream Team, having starred in the Canaries pre-season win over Schalke at the weekend.

Regularly marauding forward and even grabbing an assist for Teemu Pukki’s early goal, Roberts put on quite the show in Germany.

2 Mason Greenwood

Roberts isn’t the only young Englishman who’s impressed during pre-season, with Man United’s 17-year-old hotshot Greenwood perhaps the name on everybody’s lips right now.

The teenager has netted twice so far, including the only goal of the game in United’s 1-0 win over Inter on Friday.

Greenwood could find himself in and around the first-team in 2019/20, with manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer even hinting he could start in the Red Devils’ Premier League opener against Chelsea.

3 Dwight McNeil

There’s a lot of buzz surrounding McNeil after his sensational first season at Burnley, with Spurs and Juventus said to be eyeing a move for him this summer.

The 19-year-old netted three times in the Premier League last time out and was one of the first names on Sean Dyche’s team-sheet.

In fact, he’s one of the names on this list that we can guarantee plenty of game-time this season.

4 Alireza Jahanbakhsh

It proved to be a difficult first season in the Premier League for Iranian international Jahanbakhsh, as Brighton’s record signing suffered a mixed campaign with the club as they flirted with relegation.

But under new manager Graham Potter, Jahanbakhsh could enjoy an upsurge in form and he was especially impressive in Brighton’s recent 5-2 friendly win against FC Liefering in Austria.

While we doubt we’ll see him replicate the sort of form he produced in Holland for AZ Alkmaar a couple of years ago – which included 21 goals and 12 assists in his final season at the club before his summer move to England – it certainly could be a season of improvement for him and he may even become a fine Dream Team signing.

5 Kelechi Iheanacho

Iheanacho was once touted as a star of the future at Man City, but the Nigerian striker has failed to really follow through on his potential following his move to Leicester two years ago.

He’s only netted 10 goals in all competitions for the Foxes since his arrival, so why would we suggest snapping up this out-of-form striker, even if he is cheap?

Well, with Jamie Vardy reaching the twilight of his career (he’s 32 now, believe it or not) and new-ish Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers well renowned for getting the best out of younger players, this could be the season we begin to see more from Iheanacho – especially with the likes of James Maddison and Demarai Gray there to provide assists.

6 Daniel James

Youth. Courage. Success. That’s the slogan at Man United these days under Solksjaer.

We’ve already touched on the brilliance of youngster Greenwood, while there’s a lot of hype surrounding the club’s other young players Tahith Chong and James Garner. Not to mention Marcus Rashford.

And in Dan James – their first signing of the summer, from Swansea – the club has yet another highly-regarded youngster at their disposal that we can envisage becoming a Dream Team favourite this term.

The Wales international has already impressed during their pre-season tour and has even  been singled out for praise by his new manager.

7 Ben Godfrey

As one of the Premier League’s newly-promoted teams, it’s fair to say that Norwich will probably concede a fair few goals this season.

But that doesn’t mean you should avoid picking one or two of their players, and Godfrey looks to be one of the picks of their regular line-up.

The young centre-back was a mainstay in their Championship-winning side last term and universally impressed with his pace and versatility – unusual for a central-defender.

In fact, while he’s down as a defender on our game, you could see him play anywhere for the Canaries; from holding-midfield to striker.

To those in the know, it’s little surprise to hear that both Spurs and Man United have been linked with him in recent weeks.
