Tata Martino, Luciano Acosta, and Marcelo Bielsa: Freedom Kicks for 13 December 2016

0 3

Soccer, go!

Longtimers around here might remember my post on MLS’s relationship with multi-level marketing companies and the problems with those relationships. They still exist, in Herbalife and Advocare, and others have existed across the league at various times. For those interested in learning more about MLMs writ large, I bring to you the recommendation of the new podcast The Dream, which takes a look at some of the many MLMs and how they are so popular with people. The podcast is hosted on Stitcher and can be found wherever you get podcasts. It is good!

To the soccer:

Lucho is playing on our heartstrings to make a play for his wallet, and I can’t say I blame him. His value has never been higher, so cash in on it while you can.

Coach Tata Martino leaves Atlanta United on a high note - The Boston Globe: The best part of this story is the juicy nugget that Orlando City passed on hiring Tata so they could pay more money for Jason Kreis (Orlando has vigorously denied this report).

Marco Ureña among four players selected in 2018 Waiver Draft | MLSsoccer.com: The Waiver Draft was yesterday and it was slightly more active than usual, even with 21 teams passing.

Report: Marcelo Bielsa lined up by Atlanta United – ProSoccerTalk: The name not in the headline, Guillermo Barros Schelotto, is probably slightly more likely.

Concacaf and the new CSA president do not like the fact that the Fury aren’t playing in Canada’s new D2 league. Threatening their existence is a bad way to go about it, so I hope this gets resolved soon (but doubt it).

A signing of a recognizable name might help improve Cincinnati as they jump to MLS.

That’s all I’ve got; what’s up?
