Teams have always had strikers who can keep the ball, score and head it. It’s absolutely nothing new. Wingers and creative players have always been the ‘tricky’ players. It’s not the ‘modern’ game, it’s the game. There is still few teams in the word that would turn down the type of goal poacher forward, for example Martinez. The England football team would love to have the option of a top form Owen/Lineker now.
