I was winding a Villa fan up saying how their badge is a copy of the Rangers badge (he says they had the Lion first so I gave that up) but started looking at our badge history:
A. I think our current badge is iconic. Maybe it’s a bit ‘schoolboy designing a badge’ in its cliches, but I love it and I know about the competition for the design.
B. Did we really use the Rangers knock-off script badge 1970-75? In my mind it was a 1-2 season thing.
C. Why did we drop the coat of arms? I heard it was because the city felt they were being disloyal to their other teams
