Yeah, quite mystifying. If he had an addiction you could almost understand it but for a seemingly intelligent straight-up guy to risk a prison sentence, his marriage and a good career for the sake a grand is staggering.

I half believe his excuse for doing it, I reckon the money was for helping prostitutes but not in the way he claimed. He wanted to tuck some cash away that his wife didn't know about so he could have all the fun of the fair.
