Monte Cater retiring as Division II Shepherd football coach
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. — Monte Cater is retiring as football coach after 31 seasons at Division II Shepherd. Shepherd vice president for athletics Chauncey Winbush announced Cater’s retirement Wednesday. Longtime assistant coach Ernie McCook has been named Cater’s replacement.
