Horse Sport Ireland launches new FEI entry system via Horse Source
Horse Sport Ireland (HSI) is set to launch its new integrated international FEI entry system on December 3rd through www.HorseSource.ie, delivering a major step forward in efficiency, accessibility, and athlete autonomy across Irish equestrian sport.
The new platform on Horse Source allows international athletes, or their nominated agent, to manage all their entries instantly, from first entry to amendments, substitutions and withdrawals, with convenience, efficiency and security.
Accessible via HorseSource.ie on a web browser and iOS devices, or via the new Android app, Horse Source puts athletes firmly in control of their competition schedules.
This launch accompanies the introduction of HSI’s new High Performance funding model, which begins in December and includes a significant investment in Irish teams.
From December 3rd, we are also pleased to share our intention to support the programme by reducing direct entry cost burdens for athletes at designated Nations Cup events.
Subject to programme budgets and income levels, Horse Sport Ireland aims to reduce the burden of entry fees charged by organising committees at selected Youth and Senior Nations Cup competitions, and to continue covering entry fees at World and European Championships for athletes selected to represent Team Ireland.
The final list of supported Nations Cup events will be confirmed in consultation with the incoming High-Performance Managers, ensuring alignment with performance priorities and available programme resources.
Horse Source has been designed from the ground up to simplify the international entry process, enabling athletes to take full control of their competition planning.
With Horse Source, athletes can now:
- Amend, substitute or withdraw entries at any time before closing
- Enter competitions at the touch of a button. No calls, emails or messages
- Receive instant notifications and updates via email
- Manage multiple horses and entries from a single dashboard on phone, tablet, or desktop
- Organise their schedules immediately once entries open and shows are published
- Benefit from HSI-funded entry fees for selected Nations Cup and championship team events
Upon signing up, athletes – or their nominated agent – will have access to their profile and can enter any available class as soon as entries open.
The introduction of the Horse Source entry system will include a High-Performance Levy, with each entry priced at €48.78 per horse (excluding VAT). There is a €65 (excluding VAT) cost for late entries IF the final entry deadline has passed. There will be a fee of €20 (excluding VAT) for withdrawals or substitutions IF the final entry deadline has passed and the entry has been submitted before the deadline.
An integrated account deposit feature will allow users to securely add funds and make entries directly through the platform.
This levy is an investment in Irish equestrian excellence. Each entry supports HSI’s High Performance Programme, helping fund the continuous development of Ireland’s riders, horses and teams, in an ongoing commitment to athlete development at all levels.
Every time an athlete enters a competition through Horse Source, the levy will contribute to supporting Ireland’s High-Performance Programme, helping to strengthen the pathway for Ireland’s athletes, horses and teams as they compete on the international stage.
This contribution is intended to help underpin the system that develops talent and sustains Team Ireland’s presence among the best in the world, including supporting entry costs for key international team competitions across Jumping, Eventing, Dressage and Para-Dressage, youth and senior.
“By entering through Horse Source, athletes are investing back into Irish equestrian sport and the future success of Team Ireland,” said HSI CEO, Denis Duggan.
“This new system gives athletes total control over their entries from December 3rd onwards and will secure the future of the High-Performance programme across the Olympic disciplines, with the income generated used to fund Jumping, Eventing and Dressage.
“Presently, the High-Performance Programme for the Olympic disciplines is funded by Horse Sport Ireland and Sport Ireland.
“This contribution, alongside that of Horse Sport Ireland and Sport Ireland, will ensure a sustainably funded High-Performance Programme. A world-class programme of the highest quality, delivered by Horse Sport Ireland that lays the foundation for ongoing success of Irish equestrian athletes around the world.
“So, every time an entry is made through Horse Source, athletes are not just entering to a show, they are investing in Irish equestrian sport and the success of Team Ireland.”
