There are three rounds remaining in the most interesting Ligue 1 season ever. Even now, the title race is going strong and we can’t say which team will lift the trophy at the end. Lille secured a comfortable win in the last round and they remain top. PSG are right behind them after winning their game against Lens. It was harder than they had hoped but eventually the three points were theirs. On the other hand, Lyon and Monaco played against each other in the last round. If was a fantastic fixture but Lyon had the upper hand during the whole game. Even though they went down to ten men, they still scored two goals after their player received the red card. The result brought them closer to the 3rd and last UCL spot which Monaco currently hold. On the other hand, both sides are out of the title race.

With the title race being so close, Bitcoin Betting will be very popular for the remainder of the season. Below, we will cover the three fixtures that could impact the table the most. First, we have Lille in an away fixture against Lens. The hosts are fighting for a UEL spot which means Lille will have a hard time come Friday night. Next, Lyon are hosting Lorient in a game they are expected to win. If Monaco fail to win their fixture maybe Lyon could grab the 3rd and last UCL spot once again. Lastly, we have the holding champions in an away fixture against Rennes. The side from Paris are now out of the Champions League and need to step up in their national league games. Ligue 1 Predictions & Bitcoin Betting Tips

Lens vs Lille

Lens

Given Lille’s title ambitions and rival Lens’ European qualification dreams, this Ligue 1 (L1) ‘Derby du Nord’ clash is one of this season’s most important fixtures. Even though Lens’ mightily impressive 13-match L1 unbeaten run came to an end at PSG last time out (2-1), the hosts gave the champions a real scare and could do the same to Lille here as they’ve now scored an average of 2.00 goals per match over their last eight top-flight games. Incredibly strong on home soil, Lens are seven unbeaten here since late January (W3, D4), and have only been behind three times at HT across 17 home league matches (17.65%). However, there’s cause for concern as Lens have kept just three clean sheets at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis, and lost 4-0 in the reverse H2H.

Lille

Lille know only a victory will do here as they close in on their first L1 title in ten years. Just one point ahead of PSG, this fixture appears their most difficult remaining game on paper, and fans will be hoping ‘Les Dogues’ can avoid defeat after losing just three times this top-flight season – the second fewest losses across Europe’s top-five leagues. The visitors make the short trip to Lens in fantastic shape and boasting L1’s best away record – and the third best in Europe’s top-five divisions – after losing just once on the road all season (W12, D4) and conceding an average of just 0.65 goals per fixture. Now 12 top-flight away games unbeaten, Lille have conceded just three goals across their last eight away trips!

Prediction

Lille’s lead at the top is just one point. This means they can’t afford to drop any points until the end of the season. PSG will most likely win all their games and Lille have to do the same. Lille secured a strong victory the first time they played against Lens and will need to do something similar on Friday night. It will be a tough fixture because Lens are very good at home. However, we believe that Lille are capable of winning. For that reason, we are backing an Away Side Victory @ 1.94 odds.

Lens vs Lille

Lyon vs Lorient

Lyon

The hosts must win to maintain their slim hopes of claiming an 8th Ligue 1 (L1) title, but more pressing is achieving a top-three Champions League qualification spot. After a huge 3-2 win over Monaco last time out, the hosts are boosted by the fact boss Rudi Garcia has lost only one of his last nine managerial H2H renewals in all competitions vs Lorient (W5, D3). However, Lyon have just two victories in nine H2H clashes (D4, L3). Losing three of their last four competitive home games highlights a vulnerability for ‘Les Gones’, albeit all were versus current top-three clubs. However, being ranked joint-first for first-half L1 home goals (21) is more of a positive, and after keeping a clean sheet in five of their past seven L1 home triumphs, more of the same would be welcome here.

Lorient

Back-to-back L1 wins for the first time since January has increased Lorient’s prospects of avoiding relegation, although they haven’t won three league games in a row since February 2020. More positively, the fourth-from-bottom side have scored in their previous nine L1 fixtures (W4, D3, L2) and if there’s a red card here it’s potential good news as in Lorient’s previous three L1 victories, there’s been three dismissals. Based on the ten-game away league table, Lorient – who are the joint-second lowest first-half away scorers this season with seven – are the only L1 side without a victory (D5, L5). In fact, they hold the unenviable tag of being the only L1 team yet to win an away game after scoring first (D2, L2).

Prediction

Squad spirit is probably high at Lyon, after beating Monaco in the last round. They need to keep up the momentum and win all remaining games. If that happens, Lyon might get to finish 3rd and play in the Champions League next season. However, what they can’t do is lose on Saturday or their UCL dreams will be over for sure. We are backing a Home Side Victory & Over 2.5 Goals outcome @ 1.74 odds.

Lyon vs Lorient

Rennes vs PSG

Rennes

A top-five finish remains a realistic aim for Rennes, despite a 1-0 setback last time out which ended their six-game unbeaten Ligue 1 (L1) run (W5, D1). That defeat was the third game in five in which the opposition scored first, and that’s something which has now happened in 19 of their L1 encounters (54.29%). However, they have impressively avoided defeat in nine of those matches (W5, D4, L10). The hosts are chasing a fourth straight home league victory for the first time since December 2019. Yet despite that form, goals have been hard to come by. Prior to Rennes’ last fixture at Roazhon Park, they’d netted under 1.5 goals in six straight matches (W2, D1, L3). The floodgates opened in their 5-1 win vs Dijon though, and four second-half goals in that one has contributed to 60.87% of their home L1 goals this season arriving after HT.

PSG

Paris Saint-Germain have to pick themselves up from midweek Champions League semi-final heartache and build upon their four-game L1 winning run as they try and chase a joint-record tenth top-flight title. A lingering problem for them has been a fragile defense that hasn’t kept a clean sheet in ten of their previous 11 competitive matches. Seven of those came in their last seven L1 games, representing their joint-longest league run without a shutout since April 2012. They counter this problem with a scintillating attack, especially on the road where they’ve won six straight L1 matches, impressively scoring 2+ goals in five. Furthermore, each of those away wins saw at least one goal scored before the 21st minute!

Prediction

After losing the UCL semi-finals, PSG have nothing to play except the league, if they want to lift some silverware at the end of the season. They have to win all remaining games and hope that Lille drops points in one of these rounds. Rennes, on the other hand, are still in play for a UEL spot which means they will do their best to get a positive result come Sunday night. With that being said, we are backing an Over 2.75 Goals outcome @ 1.85 odds.
