This four-year-old did really well last season with a victory here and a couple of successes at Lingfield.

One of those came over this distance and the handicapper has finally given him a little help with a 2lb drop.

He looked rusty when beaten just three lengths coming back from a break at Kempton and should be thereabouts at decent odds.

She’s one of many specialists at this track where the ground rides on the slow side.

The four-year-old has dropped to just 2lb higher than her success here four runs ago and she got no luck in running at Chelmsford last time.

MUTAABEQ (7.00 Chelmsford)

Joe Fanning’s ride almost pulled off a 50-1 shock when running here two outings ago.

He was beaten less than two lengths when seeming to relish this distance.

He comes back from 1lb lower in the weights and should be right in the shake-up again.

Aside from these, SunSport resident tipster Templegate has picked a horse in each race on Thursday.

SOUTHWELL

11.50   Grimsthorpe Castle (nb)         

Landed another win here last time and can defy a penalty.

12.20   USTATH (NAP) 

Going really well at this track and can make it four in a row.

12.50   Byzantia          

Came from a long way back when third at Lingfield latest.

1.20     Zylan   

Goes well here and not beaten far when fourth last time out.

1.50     Young John     

Good effort here latest and capable of winning off this mark.

2.20     Badger Berry   

Had plenty in hand when scoring over course and distance latest.

2.50     Geography Teacher    

Went close last time and this looks slightly easier.

3.20     Sophar So Good (treble)         

Will be much happier here than at Wolver last time.

LINGFIELD

12.33   Alka Step         

Good second last time and shows best in testing conditions.

1.03     Alrightjack       

His stamina will come into play in these conditions.

1.33     Ingenuity         

Has shown enough to figure and first-time visor may help.

2.03     Away For Slates          

Good second here last time and weighted to go close.

2.33     The Mick Preston        

Bumper winner who showed lots of promise on hurdles debut.

3.03     La Reine Poutine         

Did well in bumpers and should make a nice hurdler.

3.33     Big Meadow    

Hit and miss but good enough on a going day.

TAUNTON

12.41   Runswick Bay  

Two close seconds over hurdles so far and can go one better.

1.11     Noble Joshua  

Has gone close a couple of times since moving to the Pipe yard.

1.41     First Quest      

Improved effort when fourth at Plumpton last time out.

2.11     Kauto The King            

Has taken well to fences and has more improvement to come.

2.41     Nordic Combined        

Has needed his first two runs this season and capable of winning again.

3.11     Write It Down 

Consistent and capable of better from this mark.

3.41     Sehayli 

Two good wins already this month and can land another off low weight.

CHELMSFORD

4.00     Rainbow’s Pony          

Improved effort when second on handicap debut last time.

4.30     Lone Fighter    

Nicely bred and should know his job on debut.

5.00     Firmament      

Goes well here and has been running well in good turf races.

5.30     War Glory       

Has a strong record over this course and distance.

6.00     Tulip Fields      

Good third at Kempton latest and won’t be far away again.

6.30     Anisoptera      

In cracking form and still looks ahead of the handicapper.

7.00     Double Reflection       

Had plenty in hand when winning over course and distance latest.
