In the big one at Ayr, STONE OF DESTINY (3.40 Ayr) looks to have plenty in his favour.
He has long threatened to win a big pot and he delivered in great style in the Portland at Doncaster last week.
He was well on top at the line and the extra half a furlong here won’t be a problem.
He is a 1lb well-in under his penalty, he gets the services of Oisin Murphy and the drying ground conditions are in his favour.
The five-year-old will jump from stall 19 and there is plenty of pace drawn nearby, with Air Raid and Bungee Jump certain to go forward. There is plenty in his favour.
Down at Newbury, OUZO (2.15 Newbury) can pay for a few drinks.
I’m positive that Richard Hannon’s runner has a decent race in him, and he was fifth in arguably the hottest handicap of the year at York last time.
It was his first run for over two months (and since a gelding op) and he moved nicely through the race under Sean Levey. He looked set to fade inside the final 100 yards but rallied and snatched fifth on the line.
On that evidence, and on the evidence of his fast finishing efforts at Newmarket and Ascot, he is well worth a try over this 1m2f trip.
His sire Charming Spirit has a good strike rate of 1m2f and his dam was placed in an Italian Oaks, so there reason for optimism in his breeding, and a mark of 94 should prove within reach.

SMART CHAMPION (3.50 Newmarket) is a cracking bet in the Cesarewitch Trial.
To say he has been unlucky this season would be the understatement of the century, and through no fault of his own.
He was given far too much to do when staying on strongly for fourth over 2m4f at Royal Ascot, he was anchored out the back in a slowly-run Northumberland Plate and on his last two runs at Goodwood he hasn’t been put into the race.
This 2m2f trip looks absolutely ideal and with this mile and a quarter run-in there is no chance of his challenge being delivered too late.
There are a few suspect stayers in here and this lad not only sets the standard (in my opinion) but he is due a change of fortune.
