Young Judges Competition

0 6

The Society held the second Young Judges Competition in 2019 to encourage new Judges and provide support and training to aid their development.

Consisting of a team and individual competition it is hoped that many of the competitors and those who attend the training sessions will then apply for assessment for the adult judging panel when they reach the age of 25.

Local Associations are duly invited to offer training sessions and encourage their younger members to take part.  Training can be attended by members of any age however the competition is only open to those who are 14-19 years of age for the team, which consists of three members and 18-24 for the individual competition.

The 2019 competition took place at the North West & Wales Foal Show on Saturday 12th October at Southview Equestrian Centre, in Cheshire.

Judges for the competition were Ms Anne Hull, Mr Philip Shipman and Mrs Yvonne Simmons who were all impressed with the young judges knowledge of the breed and judging ability.

The 2019 team and individual competition winners were from the North West and Wales Shire Horse Society.  The team consisted of Jess Evans, Edward Leverett and Mollie Pickering  The individual winner was Joe Vickers.  Congratulations to all those who took part and we hope to see you all again in 2020!
