WWE have announced they are officially returning to where NXT UK began for its next TakeOver event as wrestlers from Walter to Tyler Bate will complete a star-studded Blackpool II.

Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative Triple H confirmed that the company’s British brand will reclaim the iconic Empress Ballroom one year later.

The inaugural event in front of a sell-out crowd saw Joe Coffey fail to capture the WWE United Kingdom Championship from Pete Dunne.

But the Scot will now get another chance at the strap when he faces current champ Walter as one of three huge matches already on the card.

NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray will also be forced to defend her belt in a triple threat match against Toni Storm and Piper Niven.

While the brand’s Tag Team belts will be put on the line in an epic ladder match where Gallus will be up against Imperium, Grizzled Young Vets and South Wales Subculture.

Fans in attendance have also been told to expect to see Moustache Mountain’s Trent Seven & Tyler Bate, Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster.

Following the announcement, Triple H tweeted: “In the same building @NXTUK was born. In the place you created a new brand…your brand. The Empress Ballroom. @WGEmpress Blackpool, England.

“#NXTUKTakeOver: Blackpool II. Streaming LIVE on @WWENetwork, Sunday, January 12.”

Former Champ Pete Dunne is not expected to be on the show after transferring over to the US brand of the Triple H-ran wrestling product.

But Tyler Bate, who was another of the NXT UK’s founding roster members, told SunSport in an exclusive interview this summer that he has no plans to follow suit.

The Dudley-born grappler said: “Pete seems to be enjoying himself and it’s something new for him to experience in his career. He’s enjoying it.

“As far as I’m aware there are no plans for me to be going anywhere any time soon. I’m quite enjoying my time here in NXT UK and my goal is to keep things fresh and interesting.

“I like to try new things and go to new places and if I can do that in NXT UK then I’m fine staying here – but there’ nothing planned as far as I’m aware for me to go anywhere soon.”
