‘Dancing with the Stars’ elimination odds: Lamar Odom was saved once by Ray Lewis’s withdrawal, but may not survive again

Basketball star Lamar Odom may have dodged a bullet last week on “Dancing with the Stars” during “Movie Night” when an old tendon injury forced football player Ray Lewis to withdraw from the competition. Odom has had the lowest judges’ scores every time he’s stepped into the ballroom, but there was no formal elimination after Lewis packed it in. Tonight is a different story, though. Will he dodge another bullet?

According to the combined predictions of “DWTS” fans who have made their forecasts here in our predictions center, Odom’s shot clock is about to run out. He’s the likeliest to be sent packing in 10th place with leading odds of 29/20. But it all depends on whether his fans rally behind him after his frequent close calls.

Though the judges didn’t send anyone else home last week, Odom was still announced as having landed in the bottom two after judges’ scores were combined with the live viewer votes. The other celeb in the bottom two was Kel Mitchell, whom the judges have liked much better on the dance floor. If given a choice between them again, the judges would almost certainly keep Mitchell around instead of Odom.

But perhaps Odom landing in the bottom two will be enough to spur his fans to action tonight. Dancers at the bottom of the judges’ leaderboard often survive the show because the audience knows how badly they need their votes to survive (just ask Grocery Store Joe). Meanwhile, fans may get complacent if their fave scores in the middle of the pack, often leading to surprise eliminations (just ask Mary Wilson).
