Val Chmerkovskiy is excited but ‘a little nervous’ for Leah Remini to guest-judge ‘Dancing with the Stars’ next week

There’ll be blast cast from the past on “Dancing with the Stars” next week: Leah Remini will guest-judge Week 4 of the competition. And her old ballroom friends can’t wait — and are also slightly anxious.

“She says it how it is. She’s done the show, so she’s familiar with the pressure,” Val Chmerkovskiy told “Entertainment Tonight” (watch below). “I’m excited. I’m a little nervous because she’s brutally honest, but I’m excited to have her back.”

Remini finished in fifth place on Season 17 in 2013 with Tony Dovolani. She’s since returned to guest-host in Erin Andrews‘ stead alongside Tom Bergeron for a week in Season 19 and two weeks in Season 21.

The actress’ return next week is part of ABC’s Cast from the Past week, which runs from Oct. 7-13 and features cast reunions on its current shows. Among them: “Cheers” stars Kirstie Alley, Rhea Perlman, John Ratzenberger and George Wendt will be on “The Goldbergs”; “Charmed” sisters Alyssa Milano and Holly Marie Combs will check in to “Grey’s Anatomy”; and Dan Aykroyd will join his “Blue Brothers 2000” pal John Goodman on “The Conners.”

Remini won’t get to judge her BFF Cheryl Burke, who withdrew on Monday after her partner Ray Lewis re-injured his toe, necessitating surgery. The two bonded on Season 17, and Remini served as Burke’s maid of honor in her wedding to Matthew Lawrence earlier this year. But Burke plans to help her pal out.

“I gotta give her some tips,” she said. “I’m gonna be in her ear the whole time. ‘OK, now say this, say do a little bit more cha-cha-cha.'”
