Stacey Dooley admits she’ll be jealous to see Strictly’s Kevin Clifton with another woman and ‘sliding down the walls’ with envy
STACEY Dooley will struggle to contain her jealousy as boyfriend Kevin Clifton dances with another women on this year’s series of Strictly Come Dancing.
The 32-year-old presenter is apprehensive about the upcoming season of the BBC One latin and ballroom competition, which will air next weekend, because she doesn’t want to see her beau getting close and personal with his celebrity partner.
Speaking about polyamorous relationships ahead of her new docu-series Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over to hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer on Sunday Brunch she said: “There’s a polyamorous family. So more than two people in a loving relationship… you’re not sold, are you Tim?”
When asked about her views on the romance, the investigative journalist said: “It’s not for me.”
She continued: “What really took me by surprise was when we were all on the sofa and the husband and wife – obviously married and they’ve got a little boy, and then the girlfriend comes in and out.
“I saw the husband [stroking the girlfriend’s arm] really lovingly and the wife was looking on like, ‘Oh I’m so made up they’ve got this connection’, and I just find that really hard to comprehend.
“I think I’d be jealous.”
When asked if she could commit to a polyamorous relationship, Stacey immediately shut down the idea admitting she would be green with envy.
She added: “Could I? Not in a million years! I’d be terrible, I’d be sliding down the walls. No, just the one for me.”
Stacey has opened up about her family views, as she spoke about a child-led family, which she would not want for her future.
She said: “Essentially it’s no rules, so the kids sort of rule the roost. They don’t even go to school, the kids. They don’t follow a curriculum. I couldn’t get my head around that one.
“Obviously I’m not a mum, but if I was a mother I imagine that kids need boundaries and school is so important.
“Education is such a privilege that so many kids don’t have, it feels slightly strange that they’re not taking advantage of it.”

Stacey and Kevin were last year’s Strictly champions, and went public with their romance earlier this year – shortly after they lifted the Glitterball trophy.
Prior to dating Kevin split from his ex wife Karen, and Stacey had called time on her romance with ex-boyfriend Sam Tucknott.
Stacey and Kevin’s relationship has gone from strength to strength over the last few months, and have sparked speculation they are engaged after Stacey was spotted out and about with a ring on her engagement ring finger.
