Former Strictly pro Ola Jordan says she will never return to the show as she’s too old

OLA Jordan has insisted she will never return to Strictly Come Dancing because she thinks she is “too old”.

The 36-year-old professional dancer quit the BBC One lating and ballroom competition in 2015, but she will not be donning the glitzy ensembles and returning to the dancefloor in a bid to take home the Glitterball trophy because she thinks she is too long in the tooth.

Speaking to The Mirror Online, she said: “I did ten years and it was full-on.

“It’s six months out of your life to do Strictly without any weekends or days off.

“Being involved with the show was amazing but sometimes you need to know when to hang up your dance shoes.

“I’m too old now.”

Ola – who is married to husband and fellow dancer James Jordan – quit the programme one year after her partner was sacked from the programme.

However, the talented star had threatened to hang up her dancing shoes two years earlier after she accused another professional on the programme of bullying.

Ola joined Strictly in 2006, but started dancing aged 12.

It wasn’t until series seven in 2009 her and her celebrity counterpart Chris Hollins were crowned champions.

Strictly is set to return next weekend with Made In Chelsea’s Jamie Laing, Anneka Rice, James Cracknell and Alex Scott among the famous faces gracing the dancefloor.

But Ola believes the contestants should not worry about the Strictly curse, which has seen competitors break up with their partners after sparking up a romance with their dance partner from the show, as she believes it doesn’t exist and her and James are living proof.

She added: “There are a lot of couples that have got together.

“It’s not wrong if you love someone and you want to get together. Why not? There’s been a lot of hurt people through it.

“I think Strictly is like a bubble. It’s so intense within the hours that you do. You don’t see your family and friends, you don’t have time to really do other different jobs.

“It’s so intense that you forget what’s around you. When you come out of the bubble that’s when you go, ‘Wow, what happened here?’”
