Love Island fans furious as Maura breaks girl code with ‘fragile’ Amy by telling Curtis she fancies him
LOVE Island fans were left fuming this evening as Maura Higgins broke girl code by not telling Amy Hart she was going to confess her feelings to Curtis Pritchard.
The Irish grid girl shocked everyone when she pulled the ballroom dancer for a chat and told him she really liked him – as Amy watched on.
Those watching at home couldn’t believe what they watching and took to Twitter to discuss it – admitting their fears for Amy.
One person wrote: “Maura has broken every girl code that ever existed #loveisland.”
A second added: “I love Maura, but she should’ve pulled Amy aside to let her know about her feelings before talking to Curtis. She knows how important girl code is! #LoveIsland #girlcode #maura #curtis.”
While a third tweeted: “Maura has just put the final nail in Amy’s coffin #LoveIsland.”
And a fourth ranted: “Love Island fans furious as Maura breaks girl code with ‘fragile’ Amy by telling Curtis she fancies him.”
During tonight’s episode, Maura, 28, wasted no time when it comes to scraping up Amy’s leftovers after dumping Marvin.
She made her move as she asked Curtis – brother of Strictly’s AJ Pritchard – to teach her how to dance, right in front of Amy.
As the Islanders relaxed in the garden, Maura said: “Curtis will you teach me to dance then?”
Curtis agreed and gave Maura the lesson she’d been waiting for, and Amy clocked what’s going on.
Afterwards Maura spoke with Lucie about her dance lesson with Curtis, saying: “I think I fancy him even more after today”.
She later pulled him for a chat and said: “This is a bit awkward for me. So obviously you were coupled up with Amy and when I came in here a lot of the girls asked me ‘who would you go for?’ and I said you.
“But I wouldn’t have done that because you were very strong and I wouldn’t have wanted to cause any trouble, but now you are single. And I just wanted to let you know that I do have feelings for you.”
Curtis couldn’t stop smiling and admitted to her that he had sent her a message on Instagram before they even entered the villa.
He added: “You are a very attractive young lady and I would be lying if I didn’t say you were.”
Maura continued: “None of the other guys I was coupled up with worked for me and I don’t know if it was before you were in here and I just couldn’t kind of focus.”

Amy, 26, was left devastated on last week show after Curtis, 23, revealed his head had been turned by Jourdan Riane while she was in Casa Amor.
She had laid her heart on the line in the agonising chat as she told her “half-boyfriend” how he’d made her feel.
She said: “I feel like I was an acceptable placeholder until you found someone better. You did but then she [Jourdan] coupled up with Danny so you came back to your back-up plan.”
Curtis continued to listen to Amy as she expresses how she feels. Amy said: “I don’t think you actually fancy me.
“You’re having meaningful snogs with other girls when I’m not here. How is that OK?”
