Break Dance in the 2018 Olympic Games

DanceSport, in the genre of Break Dance, is to be included for the first time in an Olympic Games at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Argentina. Entry is available to athletes who meet the criteria through submission of a video of themselves performing. The initial adjudication will be by video only.

Background Information: World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) is the International Olympic Commission member for DanceSport. DanceSport Australia (DSA) is the National Member Body of the World DanceSport Federation and a member of the Australian Olympic Commission. The WDSF has been allocated the responsibility of selecting competitors for the 2018 Youth Olympics Break Dance events – solo male, solo female and duo team. DSA, as the National Member Body of the WDSF, has been co-opted to assist in the process of encouraging Australian athletes to compete in the preliminary selection process.

Entry: Eligible contestants may enter by uploading a 45-second ‘breaking’ video of him/herself to the WDSF platform between the first week of May and 31 July 2017.
