Sickter Lars Loop Recap and Wrap Up

0 10

Written by Tim Mathews

On Saturday, June 12th, a crew of 4 volunteers set out in the Tillamook State Forest to put the final touches on the Stickler Lars trail. As the crew hiked out to the job site, the fog that was trapped in the valley, slowly burned off to a beautiful day, leaving sunbeams to cast through the trees. It was a good day to be out on the trail.

For a small crew, a lot was accomplished. Successfully punching through some of the thickest overgrown sections of the trail, Salal and Oregon grape was removed that had encumbered the trail, making it rideable. The day was so beautiful we couldn’t help but take a break from time to time to take in the sweet summer air and beauty.

Throughout three work parties, 22 total volunteers cleared the trail in preparation for summer riding. Thank you for all your help! If you want to get involved in future work parties out there, please follow us on social media and check in on our event page here.

Questions? Please email timm@nw-trail.org.

There are two planned timber sales that would/will heavily impact the trails negatively on the Gales Creek and Browns Camp loop network. To submit a comment, head hereDue by June 21st.
