The classic Belgian Wednesday race whose defining characteristic is that it runs on a Tuesday. And also that it is dependably awesome. Often the gnarliest, grittiest day in the Belgian classics. There is never beauty in Samyn, only filthy hard-earned wins.

Last year Chantal van den Broek-Blaak and Boels stomped all over this race from the early kms to the point where I'd even hesitate to call the event a race, this year they (now SD Worx) will perhaps at least let it go to a sprint?
In the men's race they'll probably let Mathieu win so he doesn't start crying that the other boys are mean to him when he's playing cycling.
