painting a bike frame with top tube cable guides

Hi guys, new to the forum. I just recently bought a lotus challenger in working condition, except that the paint is flaking off. I'd like to spray paint the frame and protect it from oxidation. However, I noticed the top tube cable guides might lead to a problem.
