EC30 Threadless Headset Recommendation, please

My latest rescue has an uninspiring aluminum fork ('93 Specialized Allez Pro) which I want to swap with a carbon I have to assess any improvement. Locally nothing and so looking for an EC30 top and EC30/27 bottom, w/o spending C. King $ as I will loose enough on this restorations as paint is a must due to failing rustoleum.
