World Chess Cup 2025 LIVE
The FIDE World Chess Cup 2025 is going to take place October 30 – November 27 in India. It will feature 208 players in 8 knockout rounds of classical games. The top 50 seeds automatically enter in Round 2, while the remaining 156 players start from Round 1. Each round consists of two classical games, followed by rapid and blitz tiebreaks if necessary. The competition will span nearly a month, with rest days scheduled between key stages to accommodate the intense match schedule.
The World Cup serves as a critical part of the FIDE World Championship cycle, with the top three finishers qualifying for the 2026 Candidates Tournament, which determines the next challenger for the World Chess Championship title.
