????Crafty-Adult Valentine’s Day Video????

Dori Duff

A new Crafty-Adult video is available, just in time for Valentine’s Day! This one is called
“Love You To Pieces.”

This craft is an upcycling project – reusing something that cannot be used for its original purpose anymore. You use old jigsaw puzzles – presumably one that is missing pieces and is no longer any use to anyone. I used a kid’s puzzle, one with larger pieces. I think if I were to make this again, I would use another defunct puzzle, one with smaller pieces. While the uniformity looks good, I think a variety of sizes would give it more pizazz.

Dig out whatever paints you have in Valentine colors and paint the back (non-slick) side of the pieces. I did two layers of white acrylic craft paint before I remembered I had ceiling white leftover paint I could have used – with a whiter result.  When looking for craft materials, think outside of the “craft” box.

I am all for using household and craft glue, but I believe that this is a craft that is best served using a hot glue gun.  Unless they were small hearts with few puzzle pieces, waiting for the glue to dry in layers and sections could make you crazy – although, you could use a hair dryer to help speed up the process.

The video is up on WC-TV’s YouTube channel, linked to the Library Programming Playlist.
