Learning how to kayak whitewater – next trip 21 February 2016 NENE- 21 February We hired the artificial whitewater course at the Nene, Northampton, on 24 January so we could introduce Club paddlers to the fun of whitewater kayaking. Being man-made, the course feels very safe and is a great place to learn new skills and improve existing skills. We were blessed with a mild day, around 15 degrees, very unusual for “mid-winter”. From our gathering of around 30 paddlers, we formed small paddle groups of 3 to 4 people, each led by a suitably qualified coach.
