Everyone Had the Same Reaction to the Rangers Rally Sombrero
The Texas Rangers did not invent the idea of the nacho hat, but they did set social media on fire by making it a reality.
A real-life version of a classic item from The Simpsons will be available at Globe Life Stadium this summer along with many other great-looking new menu items.
Anyone can be a ‘nacho nacho man’
Major-league baseball teams are developing a reputation for coming up with cool foods for the ballpark every year, but the Rangers might have taken it another step by creating the Rally Sombrero.
That’s because not only are the general concepts of rally hats and nacho hats cool, but combining them also gave many people flashbacks to an iconic moment from The Simpsons.
That’s right, now you can not only enjoy a delicious snack late in a game at Globe Life Field, you can also do it while feeling like Homer Simpson (or Ned Flanders if your seatmate buys one).
Or did Gru do it better?
While Homer’s nacho hat debuted in the 1990s, a younger crowd might have been reminded of something similar from a newer movie.
Gru got his own nacho hat in Despicable Me II, which was released in 2013.
What to know about this nacho hat
This one is not animated: It’s real, and it’s spectacular!
Officially known as the 9th Inning Rally Sombrero, it features a nine‑layer dip served inside a 26‑inch fried tortilla shell.
The layers are refried beans, cheddar cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, black olives, jalapeños, and shredded lettuce, and it also comes with tortilla chips.
What else did the Rangers unveil?
The Rally Sombrero might have gotten the most headlines, but it was far from the only new food item unveiled by the team.
Fans attending Rangers games will also be able to purchase a full-size souvenir batting helmet full of chicken tenders and/or a churro helmet sundae.
