Chuck Norris' Final Role Was Unreleased Zombie Movie With Vanilla Ice—When Is It Coming Out?

0 37

Chuck Norris may be gone, but fans will have at least one last chance to celebrate the late actor when his last acting project drops later this year.

The action hero and star of Walker, Texas Rangerdied Thursday, March 19 at the age of 86, his family confirmed Friday.

“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning,” his family shared on social media this morning. “While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.”

Chuck Norris' Final Film Role

Norris continued to work steadily through his 80s, with film, TV and video game work over the last six years.

The final, still unreleased project on his IMDB page is a film titled Zombie Plane, a horror comedy set to drop later this year. While no exact date has been set for its release, it's listed as being in post-production now.

The movie has quite the random cast, filled out with names including Vanilla Ice, Ice-T, Sophie Monk, Brian Austin Green, Bob Geldof and Cody Simpson. The project was first announced back in October 2023, with reports at the time saying it had already been filmed in Australia earlier that year.

Production didn't fully wrap on the project until June 2025, however, when the final scenes were shot.

What Is Zombie Plane About?

Norris and a number of the names attached actually play heightened versions of themselves in the movie, which The Hollywood Reporter said is about “a secret government organization that recruits celebrities to be undercover agents, who together must save humanity from an imminent zombie attack.”

In the movie, Norris plays “Commander Chuck Norris,” who “mentored and trained Ice into becoming a deadly secret agent.”

A poster for the film shows Norris looking just like his Walker, Texas Ranger character—rocking an outfit similar to the cowboy hat, leather vest and denim shirt he wore on the classic '90s TV show.

Producers promised that audiences could expect “a wild ride” from the movie, adding, “Vanilla Ice is in his element as secret agent and Chuck Norris having trained him is excellent and it just works.”

Another producer added: “Zombie Plane uses comedy, the zombie genre and ’90s nostalgia as a vehicle, to comment on pop-culture as much as it feeds it, creating unforgettable one-liners and situational comedy ‘to the extreme.'”

The movie was directed by Lav Bodnaruk and Michael Mier.

Chuck Norris' Acting Legacy

While Zombie Plane may be Norris' final project, he has a stacked resume of film and TV projects for which he'll be most known.

A martial arts pro, he first appeared on screen opposite Bruce Lee in The Way of the Dragon in 1972. He then started making a killing throughout the '80s in action films including An Eye for an Eye, Missing in Action and Code of Silence.

In the '90s, he played the titular role in Walker, Texas Ranger, which ran on CBS from 1993 until 2001. He also had a very memorable role in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, before becoming a legendary internet meme and appearing in The Expendables 2 in 2012, which is considered his final major film role.
