What Happened Between Usher and Bieber at Beyoncé's Party
Tensions between Usher and Justin Bieber have reportedly flared up again after an incident at Beyoncé and Jay-Z's Oscars afterparty.
According to TMZ, the two singers got into a heated argument at the event. Some witnesses claimed it turned into a physical fight, while others said it never got that far.
The party, which was held Sunday night at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, is one of the most exclusive events of awards season. Often called the Gold Party, it has a strict no phones policy, but word of the confrontation still got out.
Reports say things got tense when Usher aggressively approached Bieber. Sources close to Bieber acknowledged there was a heated exchange but denied the situation getting physical.
This isn't the first sign of trouble between the two. They unfollowed each other on Instagram early last year, which raised eyebrows at the time.
The backstory here goes back years. Bieber was just 13 when his manager, Scooter Braun, introduced him to Usher. The R&B star took him under his wing, became a mentor, and they stayed close for a long time. Usher was close enough to perform at Bieber's wedding to Hailey Bieber.
So what went wrong? Sources suggest that Sean "Diddy" Combs allegations have played a role. According to the Daily Mail, the rift deepened as some of Usher's industry connections to Diddy came under scrutiny following the charges against him.
Fans have their own theory. Many believe things started going south when Bieber turned down the offer to join Usher during his 2024 Super Bowlhalftime show.
After initial news of the pair's alleged spat broke, Deuxmoi shared via Instagram that the reports "were inflated," adding that "Bieber simply did not want to engage in conversation with Usher. There was no specific point of tension (no fight, no yelling, no cursing), just a personal choice to avoid an interaction."
The party guest list included Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Austin Butler, Emma Stone, Jack O'Connell, Jacob Elordi, Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, and Oscar winners Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler.
Usher's representatives did not respond to requests for comment.
