Colter Wall Cancels Tour and Takes Indefinite Break From Live Music: 'I Am Mentally Unwell'

Colter Wall is stepping away from the stage indefinitely.

The 30-year-old country singer announced Wednesday that he is canceling the remainder of his 2026 tour dates and taking an open-ended break from live performances to focus on his mental health. The news came in a message posted to Instagram that was striking in its honesty.

"The truth is that I am mentally unwell," Wall wrote. "Despite this, I have pushed myself to continue with touring. As a result, my mental health has only further declined."

For fans who attended his shows this weekend, the announcement wasn't entirely surprising. Wall pulled the plug on his Sunday night performance in Evansville, Indiana just minutes before he was scheduled to take the stage, leaving concertgoers stunned.

This isn't the first time Wall has been forced to step back. In February 2025, he postponed several tour dates citing personal reasons, writing at the time that "some time off the road for reasons of mental and physical health is greatly needed." Wednesday's announcement goes further — canceling remaining shows outright rather than postponing them. Ticket holders will receive automatic refunds from their original point of purchase.

Wall rose to prominence with his 2015 EP Imaginary Appalachia, building a devoted following with his deep-voiced, old-soul approach to country and folk music. He has not indicated a timeline for his return.
