McDonald's Makes Huge Burger Announcement for Next Month

One of McDonald's most anticipated burger creations is finally coming to the United States next week, albeit on a limited time basis.

The Big Arch Burger, which was tested in several markets in 2024 and launched in France and the United Kingdom last year, will debut stateside on March 3 and will be available nationwide. Billed as essentially a double quarter-pounder, the Big Arch has been permanently installed on McDonald's menus in the U.K. and Ireland.

“The Big Arch is the most exciting burger we’ve launched in a generation, a future classic, giving customers exactly what they’ve been asking for… 2x juicy, 100% British and Irish Beef patties, cheddar cheese, crispy onions and a new signature Big Arch sauce," said Ben Fox, McDonald's chief marketing officer for the UK and Ireland, in an interview with Design Rush last June.

What is the Big Arch?

As highlighted by the post above from popular Instagram account @snackolator, the Big Arch consists of two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of white cheddar cheese, two types of onions (crispy and slivered), lettuce, pickles and new "Big Arch Sauce" on a toasted sesame and poppy seed bun.

The "Big Arch Sauce" is reportedly a combination of ketchup, mustard and pickle relish.

"After being the talk of all burgers internationally, McDonald’s boldest burger yet is finally coming to the U.S.," McDonald's said in a press release. "Fans nationwide can get their hands on the Big Arch Burger for a limited time – a premium burger experience that delivers BIG with every bite."

Customers awaiting Big Arch arrival

If the comments of the Snackolator post are to be believed, there are going to be plenty of excited people flocking to McDonald's locations starting next week.

"I’m embarrassed by how excited I am," one person wrote.

"I’ve been eyeing this one! Happy it's finally coming!" a second person said.

"Looks better than the Big Mac going to give this a try," a third commenter added.

"Definitely trying this!" a fourth person said.

"Got it at the McDonald's HQ last fall, this one's going to go triple platinum," a fifth person predicted.

As of now, McDonald's has not shared the price of the Big Arch Burger or its associated combo deals.
