This Fan Favorite Item Is Coming Back to Chipotle

High protein is all the rage right now. So naturally, Chipotle has followed suit. In December, Chipotle launched its High Protein Menu which featured a new item: the "High Protein Cup." Quite literally, it's just a side of plain meat.

Well now, meat lovers and carb lovers alike can rejoice, because this fan favorite offering featuring a little bit of both is. coming back for a limited time.

Chicken Al Pastor Is Coming Back to Chipotle

Chicken al Pastor has made several appearances at Chipotle over the last few years. Since its initial launch as a limited offering in 2023, it has become the company's most requested item online, according to the press release. People made angry demands on social media and even started petitions. So, the company brought it back in 2024. Now, it's coming back again to kickstart 2026.

Like traditional pork al Pastor, Chipotle's chicken edition is marinated and tossed with pineapple, finished with lime and cilantro. The offering will also be available as a protein cup.

"Chicken al Pastor built a passionate following, so we had to bring it back to the menu for our fans," Chipotle's interim CMO Stephanie Purdue said. "We've seen thousands of comments asking for its return because the unique, bold flavor goes perfectly with their favorite Chipotle order."

Chicken al Pastor will be available to everyone on February 10, but Chipotle Rewards members will be able to order it a day early, exclusively from the app.

The press release also teased several other innovative menu items are coming this year. Usually, Chipotle puts out two limited-time proteins per year. But based on the language of the press release, this year we may see a lot more.

"Our team is focused on delivering new flavor experiences that are delicious, on-trend, on-brand, and operationally consistent for our restaurant teams to execute for our guests," said Nevielle Panthaky, Chipotle's Vice President of Culinary, said. "Chicken al Pastor's comeback is a preview of what's in store this year at Chipotle."
