Bill Belichick Makes Decision on Coaching in the NFL Again
Bill Belichick hasn't had a great year at North Carolina. His college football coaching career has been hampered by losses and repeated controversies involving his much younger girlfriend, Jordon Hudson.
Belichick has dealt with rumors about whether he will return to coaching in the NFL, especially the New York Giants. And now he's announced his decision.

- That's according to a November 14 statement from Belichick that he posted to his Instagram page.
- Belichick, the former coach of the New England Patriots, has “not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies," the statement read. Belichick's North Carolina record is 4-5.
Bill Belichick Indicated That He Won't Coach the New York Giants or Any Other NFL Team
Belichick was the focus of rumors that he might go to the New York Giants. The move would make some sense. According to The New York Post, he "won two Super Bowls with the Giants as an assistant coach before his legendary run with the Patriots."
Belichick insisted in the statement posted to his Instagram page that his heart remains on building the program in North Carolina.
"I have great respect and genuinely care for the New York Giants organization and both the Mara and Tisch families. The New York Giants played an important role in my life and in my coaching journey," he said in the statement."
Bill Belichick Indicated That Rumors Were 'Circulating' But Insisted That He Will 'Not Pursue Any NFL Head Coaching Vacancies'
Belichick acknowledged that rumors have been circulating that he might switch back to the NFL.
"It was a privilege for me to work for the Mara family and be a member of Coach Parcells’ staff for over a decade. However, despite circulating rumors, I have not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies," he added.
According to Belichick's statement: “Since arriving in Chapel Hill, my commitment to the UNC Football program has not wavered. We have tremendous support from the university, our alumni, and the entire Carolina community. My focus remains solely on continuing to improve this team, develop our players, and build a program that makes Tar Heel fans proud."
He added: “We're on to Wake Forest.”
Fans had mixed reactions on the comment thread under Belichick's Instagram post. "Since when Bill address rumors?" wrote one. Other people posted jokes about Belichick's girlfriend.
"I didn't think people were actually being serious about Bill returning until he was forced to put out a post like this," another person wrote.
